CHAMPS Committees
The vital work of CHAMPS is done by its various committees. Participation is open to all members and, indeed, it is the collective effort and contribution of CHAMPS members working together on committees that make a significant difference - from brainstorming new ways to market the community, to planning gatherings, to finding common solutions to mutual business problems.
Board Development Committee Martha Huizenga, Chair The Board Development Committee shall be comprised of one (1) past president of the Association, the current President and one (1) member of the Board of Directors who will act as Committee Chair. The responsibility of the Committee shall be to identify, recruit and recommend new Director candidates to fill vacancies and the expired terms of Board members. The Committee shall also nominate officers for election by the Association at the annual meeting of the Association. The Committee shall also be responsible for recommending to the Board the removal of Board members who have not met their minimum attendance obligations, and the Committee shall also implement the decisions of the Board with respect to such members.
Membership Committee Robrette Vaden, Chair The CHAMPS Membership Services Committee will provide programs and benefits that will both increase and retain membership in the Association and increase the value of membership to all members. The Committee will review membership benefits to assure their appropriateness, implement recruitment and marketing plans designed to increase and retain membership, contact and greet new and existing businesses on Capitol Hill on behalf of CHAMPS and mentor new members.
